Math
My goal is for students to see the value of math in everyday life. I tried to provide students of a real life math application every day that correlated with our current concepts. I was teaching from the Math Expressions curriculum.
In math, I modeled concepts often and used consistent vocabulary. I wanted students to see the correct steps in solving problems. Once they were feeling secure with a concept, I model problems incorrectly to allow students a chance to explain my mistake and correct it for me.

Reference Posters
I created step-by-step color coded posters to assist students when they were learning addition and subtraction using various methods. I had these resources available to guide students during independent practice.
